Netflix’s Trial 4 Review
Trial 4 on Netflix is a great show and I highly recommend it. It is the story of how Boston police railroaded an innocent young man for the murder of a Boston cop. Detective Mulligan was killed execution style in his car in front of a Walgreens. Sean Ellis was a 19-year-old guy who happened to be buying diapers near the time of the shooting. He made an easy target for dirty cops who had reason to not pursue truth and justice to pin the murder on.
It is amazing how badly the government screwed up the investigation. How they allowed dirty cops to get involved in the investigation of the murder of a dirty cop is unconscionable. Just a couple lawyers and a private investigator working for the defendant were able to conduct a better investigation than the Boston PD who devoted thousands of dollars and 50 detectives.
Maybe the most disgusting part of the whole thing is how Sean’s lawyer did public record requests and was stymied for years by the government entities refusing to turn over the documents. Sean Ellis sat in prison for years longer than necessary because those evil bastards refused to turn over public records.
Sean’s lawyer was able to uncover shocking pieces of evidence against other suspects that the police ignored to railroad Sean Ellis. The other suspects had much more credible motives to execute Mulligan.
Then, after all that, these dirty, old, retired detectives have the gall to say that their investigation was clean. It goes back to my recurring question about cops: Are they lying or are they actually this stupid? It is shocking. Those deluded jerks will roast in hell if they don’t repent. They should be hung for what they did to an innocent man.
Cool Story and Proves My Point
This is a cool story from Tony Miano. I’ve criticized him in the past for some stupid things he’s done (you can search this website for those articles), but I’ve always thought that he is a good evangelist. And this is a good evangelism story. If that’s all you get out of it that’s fine, but he admits to some things about himself and police in general that lend credence to everything I’ve said about police. Of course some police don’t want to abuse people, but a very good percentage of them are on a permanent power trip and enjoy inflicting pain. Tony admits that about himself before he was saved.
What Tony would disagree with is that even cops who aren’t out to hurt people are unable to discern just laws from unjust laws, so they go on to enforce all kinds of wicked laws such as protecting the abortion business. So, that is just a side point on this story. Enjoy it.
~ Weeping with Jerry ~
33 years ago I might have taken Jerry behind his county jail barracks and put him in a rear armlock, torquing his arm not so far as to dislocate his shoulder, but to place him in considerable pain. Then, I would have mocked his manhood when he started crying.
But not today.
I was #crosswalking at Marquette/Locust when a car came to a stop at the corner. The driver leaned across the front seat toward the open front passenger window.
“I gotta question for ya,” he said.
“Pull into the parking lot and ask your question,” I replied.
His name was Jerry. I approached the car and handed Jerry a gospel tract. We shook hands and introduced ourselves.
“My question is this. Why do you do this?” He asked.
“Can I have a few minutes to answer your question?” I asked.
“Sure,” Jerry replied. “You probably smell alcohol on my breath,” Jerry added as he picked up an open beer from the center console. It was shortly after Noon. “I’m sorry about that.”
Starting from the beginning, I shared the entirety of my testimony with Jerry.
As I talked about the early immediate fruits of repentance in my life, which included no longer desiring to belittle and torment inmates, Jerry began to weep.
“And this brings me to the answer to your question, Jerry. The Lord saved me. The two greatest commandments are to love God and to love people. And I can’t think of a greater way to do both than to share the gospel with people. Why do I do this, Jerry? Because of you. I do this so I can share the gospel with you.” I explained.
Jerry’s face was now in his hands. His shoulders heaved as he wept. He cried out to God asking for God’s forgiveness and mercy and thanking Him for allowing him to stop and talk to me.
“I’ve seen you here and there and there and over there,” Jerry explained pointing in various directions, indicating different parts of the city. I see you all the time and I’ve thought of stopping, but I had to stop today to talk to you. Thank you.”
Jerry and I spent more time talking about genuine repentance and faith. I reiterated the gospel to him multiple times. Jerry wept some more.
I’m hopeful the Lord saved Jerry today. Pray for him.
I’m Not Voting For the First Time In My Life
I’ve voted in every single election every November since I turned 18. This will be the first time I refuse to vote.
Truth be told, I would prefer that Trump be president if I had to choose between him and Biden and there were no other considerations. Biden has almost nothing going for him, while Trump has a little bit going for him. However, my concern isn’t for the next four years. My concern is for the next 100 years. What will be best for America and my family over the next 100 years. I’m willing to sacrifice four years of bad times if, it means that my great, great grandchildren are better off in 100 years.
Here are a few of my reasons.
- Trump doesn’t meet the biblical requirements for a leader. If that was the only reason, that would be adequate, wouldn’t it, Christian?
- Christians should only vote for people who meet biblical requirements. We’ve fouled that up for 2016 and 2020 elections by nominating Trump, who doesn’t meet the requirements. The best thing that could happen would be for Christians to refuse to vote for Trump (and Biden). This would cause Trump to lose, and we would suffer for the next four years, but Republicans would be darn sure to find candidates that met biblical requirements for many years to come.
- All people are created in God’s image, and have a God-given conscience. If Christians could use Scripture in future campaigns to teach people biblical principles and show why a certain candidate should be elected, who does meet the biblical requirement, and appeal to people’s conscience, I think that would go a long way to elect a godly president.
- American government rejects Jesus Christ as Lord. It is impossible to operate in a secular manner. If you believe that murder should be illegal, you’re establishing a religion, or submitting to some religion. Since American government is based on some false religion, I choose not to legitimize it by participating. I don’t think it’s a sin to vote, and I would under certain circumstances.
- Taxation is theft. Trump is in favor of slightly less theft via income tax than Biden, but Trump hasn’t done anything about the dozens of other types of theft. In fact, Trump increased theft in some areas by placing tariffs on steel. If Biden wants 50% of my income to be stolen by all the various forms of taxation, and Trump is just fine with 45%, and thinks he’s done something great by only stealing 45% of my income, he’s just a tyrant.
- Trump is pro-choice no matter how much Christians insist otherwise. You can read his own words. He’s in favor of murdering certain babies, just not as many as liberals.
In reality, Biden is only slightly worse than Trump. We may have dug ourselves into such a huge hole with or moral depravity and national debt that it doesn’t matter who is president. America will be a smoking crater in four years. When will God call us to account for 60 million murdered babies and all our other sins and theft?
Stop wasting time worrying about who is president. Spend the other 364 days per year focused on doing the things we can do, and work to advance the kingdom of God where we can–locally, with our own family and neighborhood. I have many ideas for everyday steps we can take to advance God’s kingdom. But the strategy for most Christians seems to be to declare each election to be the most important ever, and for the rest of the year lament how this country is going to hell in a hand basket and do nothing about it except give up and say there’s nothing we can do but wait for Jesus to return. I reject that end-times view and believe that Christ will return when all His enemies are under his feet.

Social Contract?
Some people argue that there is a social contract where we all agreed to certain things. I think some people do the same thing with natural law. They make wild claims about what is in the social contract, and claim that we are implicitly agreeing to it by living here or something. Well if you can translate this guy’s writing into English, he actually tells me that I can go to city hall and get a copy of the social contract.
Of course, he couldn’t be consistent with his demand that I support police while he opposes abortion, so he seemed to give up that argument.

Is Kyle Rittenhouse Guilty of Murder From a Biblical Standpoint
I don’t know and don’t care what the state of Wisconsin says about whether Kyle Rittenhouse is guilty of murder (not that I don’t care about the people and justice being done) or whether he broke gun laws or broke whatever law of men. I care about properly discerning what the right thing to do in God’s eyes in this situation and leave the consequences up to Him.
This is important, because if we are to get rid of socialism, there will be no government police with special rights. Everyone will have to be held to the same standard, whether that’s security guards or citizens protecting their neighbors or their own families. Does the average Christian have any idea how God’s law defines murder? Does the average church teach what Scripture says? Not only do 99% of Christians have no idea (I admit I need more study and practice applying, though I have tried to study it), but if you asked the average Christian, I think many of them would be angry that I thought that there was another standard for murder other than the government’s.

Confusion In The Camp
Over and over, when talking with “conservative” police or public school supporters, I call those programs socialist, and the “conservative” says something like, “Those aren’t socialist programs, we pay for it.” Here’s another example of exactly that, and how I responded.
Crazy conservative lady says, “You are the one calling names here! NO we are not socialists if we send our kids to public school. WE PAY FOR IT. Many parents cannot afford private school. Glad you can; good for you. I don’t see you out there on the front lines trying to get more charter schools or doing anything else that’s positive. So what are your “personal sacrifices” – or are you just talk? Meh, Basic communication note: you won’t convert anyone to your side with your hostile, accusatory rhetoric. But I don’t think you care.”
I said, “I want you to re-read what you just wrote, and I hope that you will see that this is exactly why we are losing this country to socialism. We conservatives don’t have a clear understanding of what socialism is or why it’s wrong. How can we win a battle when most of the people on our side don’t even know who the enemy is? The battle for this country is all but lost if we don’t get this right.
Socialism is wrong, because it’s based on covetousness and theft. People are forced to pay for it whether they like it or not. People with five kids receive approximately $50,000/year in benefits while people without kids receive nothing. Some people don’t believe in public school and don’t want to support it with their money, but if they don’t pay their property taxes, they will have their home confiscated. This system is pure evil. I don’t understand why I’m the only one here that sees it. Socialism doesn’t work, because the system doesn’t have to please customers. Public school is socialism, and it’s contrary to historical conservative beliefs.
The next time socialists are on the verge of passing free healthcare are you going to say, “It’s not socialism. WE PAY FOR IT.”? Can you please be consistent and apply all the reasons that you would oppose free college or socialized medicine to all these socialist programs that you seem to like?

First of all, you need to toughen up a little. I haven’t actually insulted anyone, but put a label on the position people hold. People get called names every day in this group. It’s just that it’s not usually you. There is no doubt that people who send their kids to public school are welfare recipients. Public schools spend $10,000/year on each student. It costs parents nothing. They are receiving free education. I don’t even know why you object to being called that when it’s obviously true.

Government schooling is evil and built on socialism. Charter schools are still funded by socialism, and still run according to government rules. If that’s what you’re doing, you are the reason we are losing this country. That is one of the worst things anyone could do. It’s like saying socialism is OK if we tweak it a little. It is a losing strategy.
I don’t private school my children. I homeschool my children and could do it for about $100 per year for books. That is why I say the anti-socialism in this group is hogwash when most people could easily homeschool their children, but they prefer the benefits of socialism.”
Another “Conservative”
I’ve already posted the conversation that preceded this about how public school is bad. This guy comes along a few days later and posts this comment, and here is my response, but I have a few additional comments below.
What I didn’t bother to say in reply to the guy is that the whole purpose of the group and politics is to convince people to think a certain way. (At least that’s what it ought to be, but most use it to get government to force people to do things–the actual Gestapo.)
When he says “You have NO right to tell people they have to think a certain way…”, he’s telling me I have to think a certain way. The statement is self-refuting, and shows the level of thought in this group. It’s as if everyone in the group has gone to substandard public schools. He can’t live up to his own principle.
The whole principle of public school is built on the idea that society, the government, the voters or whoever, is going to force people to pay for government schooling whether they like it or not.
I unashamedly attempt to convince people of my beliefs, which include pointing out the immorality of forcing people to pay for public schools. I can see certain situations where in the far-from-biblical world we live in where some people might almost have no choice but to send their kids to public school, accept social security or welfare. I see no way around using roads or occasionally having to call the police or fire department. What I don’t see is conservatives supporting those socialist programs and not working to establish alternatives so that they can be ended…exactly for the reason that Henry points out. Because those programs demand a Gestapo to force people to pay for them whether they like it or not.
Henry’s comments were completely hypocritical. He’s the one supporting the Gestapo. He’s the one violating his own principle of not telling others what to think.
And I also don’t care for those who post responses and never respond back after I reply. Which he has done in the past.
