Category Archives: Abolish The Police

November 1, 2002

I was talking to someone on Facebook who posted an article saying how serious the threat from Islamic terrorism is. I pointed out that 60 million babies have been aborted, and I would bet that police have murdered more Americans than terrorists (about 3000).

Obviously 60 million dead babies dwarfs the 3000, by a factor of 20,000. If you’re worried about anything, you should be 20,000 times more worried about that than terrorism. He didn’t care to discuss that obvious refutation of his idea, but we had a long debate about how many people the police have killed.

I admitted that I don’t have hard data on how many people have been murdered by police versus how many have been justifiably killed. He had hard data showing how few cops are convicted of murder. He thought that was meaningful, but ultimately admitted that a country that has warped the definition of murder to the point that the murder of 60 million babies has gone unpunished, might have a warped definition of murder for its revenue collection agents as well.

So I decided to try to determine that number by seeing how many people were murdered in September 2016. Is that an average month? I don’t know. An interesting question is whether police murders have gone up over the decades, or do we just have more information, because ordinary people have been walking around with video cameras in their pockets for the last few years? I wouldn’t be surprised if more people were murdered by police in the past (like in the 80s and 90s), but who knows? I would think the militarization of police was a smaller factor, but cops working in inner cities probably had an even better chance of committing murder without any consequences. Maybe that will be my next area of study.

So what are the results of my study for the month of September? You can check out each case here, but there were 18 people murdered that month, as best I can tell by a biblical definition of murder. There are issues I’ve run into with compiling that number as I’ve discussed here and here, but I’m confident that those 18 were murdered by the biblical definition.

Assuming that is an average month, how long before police would have murdered more than terrorists? Three thousand divided by 18 would be 166 2/3 months, which is less than 14 years. So, since approximately November 1, 2002, three thousand people have been murdered by police.

The obvious issue is that I’ve only done this with one month, and one month could be far from average, maybe high or maybe low. I acknowledge that.

But it is interesting that since September 11, more Americans have been murdered by cops than by Islamic terrorists.

Reliability of the Cops

My little project to go through each of the people killed by police in September, and try to determine whether they were killed justifiably or murdered has been an eye-opening experience. It seems that there are many people killed by the police, and if there is even a hint that they were armed or were doing something criminal, no one cares about their death, or cares to ask questions to see whether they may have been murdered.

The Alton Sterling case is a reminder of that. It is a high profile case, AND it was caught on video. If Alton Sterling was armed (which is perfectly legal in America), we get to slap a medal on the killer cops’ chests, and forget the whole thing. But if he was unarmed, maybe it’s not so easy. There might be ramifications if they just let the cops murder people without consequence. There is a large incentive for the police to claim Sterling was armed, and that’s what they did.

From this CNN article, dated two days after the killing, the “Baton Rouge police Chief Carl Dabadie Jr. said Sterling was armed at the time he was killed…”

It turns out that is completely false. Alton Sterling was unarmed. The chief of police lied. Of course, police are famous for saying they’re “not going to release any information until we have all the facts. The officers involved in the shooting are going to be placed on administrative leave as per standard procedure, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah.” Unless they can get the media to report that the victim had a gun, then the whole thing will blow over, and they’re willing to tell what a dangerous criminal their victim was, whether it’s true or not.

So, it’s obvious they tried that tactic with Sterling, and it didn’t work. But the question then becomes: How often do they lie through their teeth, there is no cell phone video uploaded, the media reports their version of the story, and no one really looks into it? There’s no way of knowing.

There has to be someone other than another police agency to investigate every single shooting. Request any body or dash camera footage and hold their feet to the fire on every single police killing. This should be the job of the media, but citizens can do it as well.

Are These Violent People?

All taxes are collected by threats of violence and property confiscation. That means if you’re in favor of taxation, you’re in favor of government violence to collect money.

Canon City has a measure on the ballot to increase its sales tax by 1%. I had an online debate with a guy who is in favor of this tax increase, to repair roads. So, this guy doesn’t like the condition of the roads, and covets better roads to the point that he’s willing to see increased government theft for his own personal benefit.

I confronted him with these truths, that he personally is being sinfully covetous, and is willing to see increased threats of violence for his pet issue, and that this is immoral. He said that our conversation reminded him that governing people is like herding cats, and he sees why there must be an enforcement mechanism for taxation.

So, I assume the guy isn’t personally violent. I don’t know him, but I think it’s safe to assume. But, he sees the need for the government to be violent. He’s not personally violent, but has no problem hiring thugs in blue costumes to perform violence so he can benefit personally from better roads.

He would probably say it would be immoral for him personally go try and collect money to pay for roads. But something magical happens in his mind to make it moral for a cop to coerce payment.

I’ve been wondering whether this makes him a violent person himself. But I don’t think he would ever harm anyone personally. I think it just makes him a sissy. He’s not willing to go kick someone’s head in; he wants someone else to do that for him. He’s just a sissy.

Like I Said

This is great, from Bojidar Marinov.

The laws against abortion are on the books in every state. Roe v. Wade was actually the SCOTUS vs. the State of Texas. Under the state laws of at least 35 states, abortions are still illegal. Sheriffs are not elected to serve the Supreme Court. They serve their counties, and thus, they enforce the laws of their counties and states, not opinions of the Supreme Court. Therefore, if these Sheriffs were what they said they were, they would enforce the laws of their counties and states.

Modern police has supplanted what America originally had: citizen’s militia. The real authority, morally and constitutionally, is that citizen’s militia of the Second Amendment, and the courts. That authority has been de facto taken away from them, and given to an institution of executive power – the police.

I am calling the people back to their Biblical and Constitutional origins. I never said that individual citizens are supposed to shut the abortion clinics. But I am saying that we are supposed all, as individual citizens, to work and fight to restore the Biblical order. In a Biblical order, the citizen’s militia will suppress any attempt at setting up abortion clinics. Under the current order, police keeps them open, and that is what I use to prove that this social order is not Biblical.

Yes, eventually we will get to shutting down the abortion clinics, in defiance of the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, there is work to be done: educate the people to know why the current situation persists, and why they can’t change it. One reason: they believe police is a legitimate authority. They need to break free of that lie. It is not. Police is an occupation army, and we should treat it as one. That is, shrewdly and carefully undermine its authority until the time is ripe to abolish it. And yes, eventually, we as citizens will shut down the clinics.

The issue is timing not consistency. Paul knew slavery would be abolished one day. He just started the fight strategically, not stupidly.

Some Comments About Police Killings

When I started working on the page listing those who have been murdered by police, I was just planning on listing those who I know have been murdered that I can remember. But then, I decided that it would be worthwhile to go through the list of people killed in September 2016 and see if I can figure out whether they were murdered or whether their killing was justified.

There are a couple of constraints on that idea, and here are my thoughts after nearly completing going through the September list.

The First Lesson

If the dead civilian is found with a gun, there seems to be extremely little information on that shooting. If you google the guy’s name, there will be several articles that come up that were written within a day or two of the death, and then nothing. Nothing. It’s as if no one questions the cops if the guy had a gun.

Liberals don’t like guns, so I think for the most part, they will write off the victim. Conservatives love guns, but apparently they love cops more. Conservatives forget that guns are perfectly legal, and shooting a cop may be justified. If a cop feels threatened, that’s good enough for conservatives.

Here are three examples of several from September 2016 where there is very little information to go on. I don’t know if these guys were murdered or not, because all I have to go on is what the cops say.

  • Jesse Joynt
  • Larry Grant Whitehead
Second Lesson

The second lesson is related to the first lesson. I’m sure I’m not the first one to notice that if a person has a gun, or may be involved in a crime, society will forget them, and assume the cops were justified. Cops have noticed this as well.

In those deaths where there is little information to go on, the initial reports of the shooting are the only real information, and it will just say that the officer who fired felt threatened when the person pulled a gun. Maybe that’s true and maybe it’s not but I DON’T BELIEVE A SINGLE WORD THE U.S. GOVERNMENT UTTERS. Sometimes they tell the truth and sometimes they don’t. Sometimes the cop was justified, but there are known instances of police throwing a gun down next to the dead body of their victim.

(By the biblical standard, if the cop drew their gun and pointed it at the person first, the person was justified in drawing their gun and shooting.)

Then, if it was local police, they call in a different (probably state) law enforcement agency to investigate the shooting. The investigating agency is supposed to be impartial, but how is it impartial? It’s cops investigating cops; government investigating government. Even if that weren’t completely bogus, cops are held to an unbiblical, unjust standard of murder.

Conclusion

I can’t go through and investigate every murder in September. We hope the media will do it. We hope the media will act as a government watchdog, but are they? I don’t know. It doesn’t appear to be in many of the instances of police killings.

If there is little information to go on, I have to take the word of the police and the media. Those names can’t go on my list of police murders. But I wonder what percentage of those should be on my list.

My plan going forward is to investigate the local police killings when they occur, because I don’t trust the local media to get off their rear ends and do it. I would encourage you to do the same. Be a government watchdog, whether it’s police abuse or trying to figure out whether there’s waste in the budget.

No matter how you look at it, police murder a lot of people in this country. You need to worry more about the danger posed by cops than that posed by Islam.

Ten Difficult Truths

You probably won’t hear this from many pulpits, but the Bible teaches these truths. If you want to learn more, I can help point you in the right direction. These have not been easy pills for me to swallow, and I suspect they won’t be easy for most others, but Christians are to be truth seekers and tellers, regardless of the consequences.

  1.  The U.S. government at every level is antichrist. It is your enemy.
  2. The U.S. dollar system/federal reserve is sinful.
  3. Public school is a sin. Sending your kids there is a sin.
  4. The American law enforcement system is sinful and needs to be abolished.
  5. Drugs aren’t illegal under God’s law, and only tyrants are in favor of them being illegal under man’s law.
  6. Taxation is theft, voting for a tax increase is a sin.
  7. To have government agents controling the border is sinful.
  8. Requiring driver’s licences, building permits, liquor licences, business licences and on and on is a sin.
  9. Prison/jail is an unjust, wicked punishment.
  10. The U.S. has fought many unjust wars, and having a standing army is a judgment from God.

I’m not offering my opinion. These items are biblical truths. You are sinning if you send your kids to public school, are in favor of closed borders, support police, are in favor of keeping drugs illegal, vote for tax increases, etc.

These are controversial topics, but like I said, I’d be happy to explain why these items are true from the Bible.

Something to Think About

This is from a random commenter. I don’t know who the guy is, but it is interesting.

Ok…I’ve been relatively quiet about this topic for a long time…
But, considering all we’ve been seeing lately, and your Biblically consistent view, I must say something…

I had the privilege of working with the K9 units of many law enforcement agencies, both local and from other cities and states.  Did I work with all LEOs?  No.  Did I work with the leadership?  Generally, no.  However, I worked, daily and consistently, with the head of our county’s K9 unit and the SWAT leader.  I interacted with police officers from many areas, cities, counties, states, and varying responsibilities  (K9, patrol, SWAT, task force, highway, etc.).
The one thing I took away from all that despite the (few) shining examples of honest men of integrity…never, ever, not for one moment, trust a police officer.  Yes, they serve a valuable role in our society.  But, there is a systemic racism and god-complex among the vast majority of the officers I knew, worked with, had lunch and dinner with and hung out with.  The prevailing mentality among the guys I knew was “I have a badge and a gun; I own you.”  (Yes, this is a direct quote from more than one police officer I had the privilege of working with).

There is absolutely no doubt that a “us (police) vs. them (citizens)” mentality exists.  I would argue that it is prevalent.  I would argue that it is the norm.  I could tell you stories that would turn your stomach.  Lives lost.  Freedoms taken away.  Power abused.
Don’t get me wrong, our police force serves a valuable role in our society and I do very much respect those who wear the uniform…if they do so with integrity.  However, I’ve found that those who do are the minority.  I hope and pray that I’m wrong, but it seems, daily, that I’m shown to be right.

I know you are catching some flack…keep telling the truth, keep exposing the darkness, keep speaking out.  We need more Christian voices speaking on this issue.  Ultimately it’s a Gospel issue, we cannot remain silent.
