One Good County Clerk?

Maybe there are a handful of good county clerks, but it is an extremely small percentage who are refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses.

For some reason, these homosexuals think that a piece of paper from the government can make their marriage something more than a fantasy.  Two dudes can never be married, regardless of what the supreme court says.

Jesus said, “But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate” (Mark 10:6-9).

I thought it was interesting what Bojidar Marinov said about this situation today:

It is ironic to see that cop-worshippers among the church-goers in the US support Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis in her rebellion against the highest human judicial authority in the land.

It will be even more ironic when cops come to arrest her and remove her from office. What possible explanation will they have to make cops be “good” while serving illegal orders for an evil cause?

But I don’t expect cop-worshippers to change their minds. After all, after 1973, police has been the institution most committed to doggedly defending the abortion mills, not stopping before using torture, murder, and false witness against pro-lifers; and yet, cop-worshippers continue worshipping police. That’s because cop-worship is a religion, and no rational or moral – let alone Biblical – arguments can make its adherents change their minds.

No Greater Love

Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).

Cops are supposed to serve and protect, but that’s not the vibe I get from them anymore. They seem more like an occupying army.

This shows the contrast between Jesus’ words and the attitude of cops perfectly.

Timid Little Cops

I can’t believe this cop is so timid that he feels like he had to arrest a woman standing in her front yard. No one is obligated to obey unlawful orders. You can stand in your front yard.

Then, there was some type of meeting regarding this incident, and the several squad cars are there issuing parking tickets. What a gay job those cops have.

Fire John MacArthur!

I have a John MacArthur study Bible. In general, he’s one of the best big-name pastors around. I would agree with him on 90% of things he says. But, for some reason he’s way off on this topic.

In fact, if I understand correctly, Bob Vernon was the assistant chief of the LAPD, and is an elder at this church. When Operation Rescue was in LA, blocking the doors to abortion clinics with hundreds of people, Vernon sought counsel on how he should handle these peaceful Christian protesters, doing a good thing. Apparently, MacArthur told Vernon to arrest them, and they had a sadistic heyday doing so.

So I made the video below with an encouraging quote from Bojidar Marinov. You can watch the video here, or if you’d like to comment and like it, you can click on the little Youtube logo in the bottom right that comes up after you hit play.

Colorado Springs Dirty Cops

Passengers don’t have to provide ID unless they are suspected of a crime. They don’t have to submit to a search without a warrant. Such things were well-accepted truths at one point in American history. Now the cops almost certainly don’t know and definitely don’t care. Well, I care.

Nanny State Bike Helmet Laws

Christians need to be taught theonomy. Bike helmet laws are unjust laws. A Christian cop needs to ignore unjust laws and sabotage efforts by his fellow officers to enforce unjust laws. If a pastor recognizes one of his people in this video, he needs to put that person under church discipline.

I’m in my late 30s. I’m not sure I even saw a bike helmet when I was a kid and I definitely have never worn one. I’m sure most of these cops are in the same boat as me. Not only are they enforcing unjust laws, but they’re hypocrites.

Furthermore just passing more and more laws isn’t going to help people. Bad things happen. Kids fall off their bikes. That’s life. But I guess if your only hope is in this life, maybe you can have salvation by more and more laws. If his parents want him to wear a helmet, they can make him wear a helmet. It is none of the state’s business whether anyone wears a bike helmet. Any attempt to pass such a law is a violation of family and state.

Cop Worshiping Christians Bring Judgment

At 11:30, you can see these Christians demonstrating in front of an abortion clinic have Comet thrown at them. The cops don’t do anything, and let the man go.

Obviously, cops can choose to ignore whatever laws they want. Sometimes they ignore unjust laws. Sometimes they just show their bias. But I’m in favor of cops not enforcing evil laws.

Bojidar Marinov was asked about this incident and had this to say, “Christians are stupid enough to worship police when police are the institution most committed to protecting the abortion mills. Thus, the judgment on the house of God will come from its very idols.”

I think this incident is just further proof of the veracity of this meme, made from an incident from 1989:

Blue Lives Matter Less Than Our Rights

Our rights come from God. If they come from the chicken scratch on the Bill of Rights, we have no rights, because if men grant rights, men can take them away.

The reason we have a right to life, is because the Bible says, “You shall not murder.” The reason we have a right to property is because it says, “You shall not steal.” Government is included in those laws. They can’t legalize murder (abortion) or theft (rampant, ubiquitous socialism). If they attempt to do so, they’re only going to bring this country under God’s wrath.

  1. Our rights come from God’s law.
  2. No one is as important as God’s law.
  3. Therefore, blue lives matter less than our rights.

The sooner we get this through our thick skulls, the better off we’ll be.

When cop worshipers say blue lives matter, of course, I agree with the plain meaning of that phrase. Every human life is valuable, and everyone has the right to life. But, I’m afraid they often mean more than the plain meaning.

Cops aren’t held to the same standard as everyone else. When cops tell you to put out your cigarette, they expect that you dang well better do it, or they have the right to start pushing you around and arrest you. God forbid, someone actually defend themselves against government aggression. The doctrine of “blue lives matter” means they then have the right to blow you away, even if you’re not armed.

However that isn’t the teaching of the Bible. According to God’s law, the first person to draw a gun or a deadly weapon can be killed in self-defense (Numbers 35:16-21, Exodus 22:2-3). Cops don’t have special rights. Bystanders or other cops would be free of guilt in God’s eyes for killing the cop who drew his gun.

If someone doesn’t have a deadly weapon, they can’t be killed. That would be murder in God’s sight. By this standard, Darren Wilson murdered Michael Brown. Eric Garner was murdered. Freddie Gray was murdered. The murderers in the first two cases have gotten off scot free.

Soldiers have died for our rights. Christians martyrs have died for our rights. They have died to uphold God’s law against tyrants down through the centuries. I hope that if I’m called on to die for my rights or anyone else’s rights (that are consistent with God’s law) I would do so. My life and everyone else’s life matters less than God’s law and our rights. But cops don’t act like it. They act like they’d rather blow you away than risk a bruise.

Give me liberty or give me death, because my life isn’t as important as my rights or God’s law.

Conversation on Cops Part II

pain

In yesterday’s post, I showed several of the comments regarding this post. Here’s another argument that I want to discuss.

Mickey said, “Do you pay your taxes?”

—————————–

I said, “Why are you changing the subject? The topic is about how cops ought to respond to abortion.”

—————————–

Mickey: “I am not changing the topic, I am going to make a point at your expense.

You pay your taxes, your tax dollars fund abortion. Your tax dollars also fund the national, state, and local governments. Your tax dollars fund the police which allegedly side with the abortionists.

Stop paying your taxes you hypocrite.”

—————————–

Me: Even if I’m a hypocrite for paying my taxes, how does that help the cops?

—————————–

Mickey: “You fund abortion with your tax dollars. No one is taking your tax dollars by robbery. Take your position to its logical conclusion, man up and stop paying your taxes. Pay the penalty, just like you expect the police to.

If you are going to post and “like” garbage like this, then you are a coward if you give Uncle Sam a dime.”

—————————–

Josh: I don’t think anyone was ever jailed for not being a cop.

—————————–

Mickey: So you pay your taxes at the expense of helpless infants out of fear of jail? Coward.

—————————–

Me: Mickey, The insults escalate and I’ve yet to see a response to the original topic. If I’m a coward, how does that help the cops? How should cops respond to abortion?

—————————–

Mickey: “It’s now plain to everyone sensible that you aren’t consistent with your worldview. Therefore your argument holds no water.

You are knowingly paying your taxes that fund police who arrest abortion protestors. You are funding organized crime.”

—————————–

Me: Mickey, The question is how should a good cop respond to abortion? The cops in the video responded by breaking bones and depriving people of their civil rights. If you don’t know how a good cop should respond, I’m OK with that.

—————————–

Mickey: A good police officer leaves a dishonest discussion.

Start taking your pay under the table, guys. I expect you all to put your money where your mouth is. April 15 – don’t forget.

—————————–

Me: I was hopeful that someone here might be able to give me something to think about. Mickey came the closest with a tu quoque fallacy. Maybe I’m a hypocrite and a coward for not moving to Chile, but at least I don’t find myself defending bone-breaking cops.

—————————–

Mickey’s last comment seems to be an admission that he is a cop. Watch the video in the original post, and explain to me what kind of evil you’ve bought into that allows you to not condemn the actions of the cops that day.

As far as his objection, it utilized the tu quoque fallacy, meaning his argument that the cops aren’t guilty becuase I’m guilty doesn’t follow logically. Even if I’m guilty as Mickey charged, it doesn’t dismiss the cops.

Furthermore, as some of the other commenters said, taxes in this country are stolen. Even if I physically write a check, I write it because there’s a gun to my head. I don’t think the Bible obligates me to pay taxes, but I think it teaches that if money buys my freedom then I should use it to buy my freedom. Even if the thief does evil things with my money. There are more effective ways to resist.

Certainly, if you’re going to take the surface level interpretation of Scripture, I’m obligated to pay taxes. It’s a more complex (though correct) interpretation that says I’m not obligated to pay taxes. But for sure, no one is obligated to be a cop, and Christians who are cops aren’t free to enforce unjust laws.

So that takes care of that objection. Let me know if you see something I’ve missed. One thing that was revealing in this conversation is how biased cops can be. These two or three cops that commented are unable to bring themselves to even condemn evil cops. How can we expect them to stand up to bad cops in real life if they’re not even willing to stand up in writing on a private Facebook post?
