This is weird. Why are they distorting the American flag to make it black, white and blue? When people distort and discolor the flag, that seems like they’re mocking or trying to make a statement.

We are left to speculate as to the symbolism of the flag they’re wearing. But it seems to me the statement in this case would be that the thin blue line is more important than America. If you don’t know what the thin blue line is, it is the brotherhood of police–sticking up for each other.

We visited Eureka, California, and the police station has a flag flying next to the American flag with an all black background and a horizontal blue line. It seems to me that the way the thin blue line plays out is that police are willing to lie for each other, and kill for each other.

They’re always saying the important thing is that they go home at the end of the shift (as if their job is so dangerous). Well, if you go to jail at the end of the shift, that’s not home. So, if a cop screws up, all that matters is that he goes home at the end of the shift, and they’re all willing to do whatever it takes to make sure they all go home at the end of the shift, including lying and killing for each other.

It is also a huge problem that they refuse to speak. Police are supposed to serve the citizens. But these dirtbag cops are there to intimidate the citizens.
