These cops actually think it’s against the law to offend someone. Do you realize that this cop can accuse someone of offending people, and then, he can search them, arrest them and abuse them in all sorts of ways. In fact, I’ve shown on this blog how Tony Miano (who claims to be familiar with the Bible) believes that a false accusation from a cop entitles them to inflict all sorts of abuse on citizens, and that Christians ought to submit to such abuse.
Miraculously, these three retarded cops have a chief that’s not also a brain-dead, morally-twisted idiot. The chief rescinded the ticket. But there is certainly no guarantee that the higher-up cops and the district attorney will side with the law and the truth.
Hopefully these cops will be fired for being so completely ignorant of basic law, and be sued for every paycheck they’ve ever cashed for having fraudulently received wages as a law enforcement officer, when in fact, they have zero knowledge of the law.
Then, towards the end of the video, the cop asks the guy to sign the ticket, but says that he doesn’t necessarily have to sign. They clearly have some leeway in what they do if someone doesn’t sign. But, the power-tripping lady cop steps in and wants the citizen to be fully subjugated so she threatens to arrest him if he doesn’t sign.
There are psychological studies that show that being able to threaten violence and control people starts to change both the abusers and the victims. The only thing that gives cops and our entire system (including bureaucrats, judges and politicians) any authority is the constant threat of violence. All the papers that politicians and judges push around are a thin veil hiding the gun that forces people to follow their arbitrary dictates. I wonder how the constant injustice and threats of violence we face affect our whole society.
Street preachers running into completely ignorant cops is not a rare occurrence. I have much different theology than the guys in the video, and disavow their shock-and-awe style, but even in my tame, friendly and much less frequent free speech activity I’ve run into cops on two occasions that were shockingly ignorant, and said much the same thing that these cops said. I was accused of offending someone and if my “victim” had decided to press charges, I would have been arrested for disorderly conduct. The cop that was going to arrest me was a veteran cop in his 50s, who had been in the same department for decades. I was shocked, and maybe that night the seed was planted that has led me to see that police are unconstitutional and unbiblical.
