Another Example of Bad Cops

How many incidents do we need before we realize there is an inherent problem with the police? I’m convinced that we give people too many chances in life.

Just as a stupid example, I told my pastor that Peyton Manning was going to choke in this year’s playoffs.

He choked big time.

I was able to predict this, not because I figured out how to predict it, but because I realized that Peyton Manning is a choker. Chokers choke. It’s not hard to predict. He shouldn’t get any more chances, but people drool all over themselves for Peyton Manning and aren’t able to think clearly, or just think that he should get another chance. I say no more chances. He’s only going to feel more pressure to win the superbowl as he knows each one may very well be the last chance before he retires.

Cops, in general, are on a power trip and abuse people and don’t know the law. I predict that cops will continue to do that, because that’s what they are, and the guys in charge are cops and the guys training the new cops are cops. We need to drastically rethink what cops are and what they do.

Furthermore, when cops behave like criminals, we report them to the cops. The cops don’t do anything, because they’re all cops and they all act like cops. If you sue them, you won’t see a judgment for years, and that will be paid by insurance. The individuals don’t suffer for any wrongdoing they commit.

I believe what the Bible says. There were no armed-to-the-teeth thugs to drive around making sure that law-abiding citizens are wearing their seat belts in Old Testament Israel. It’s insane. But we’ve exchanged our freedom for a false sense of security.

Why does this guy who was abused by the cops still want to be a cop? I don’t get it.

Here’s the story.

The Attitude of Cops

I aspire for my attitude in life to be that I would lay down my life for another–even a stranger. I realize that’s easier said than done. And, that doesn’t mean that I would be unwilling to kill to protect myself or my family. But to give one’s life to protect innocent people is a Christian virtue. Jesus said, “No greater love has any man than this, but to lay down his life for a friend (John 15:13).”

Shouldn’t that also be the attitude of police? We admire those who ran into the World Trade Center while everyone else was running out. But that seems like ancient history at this point. The attitude of the police seems that they are an army occupying enemy territory. Their safety comes first.

On Facebook, in reference to the dangerous situation shown in this video, a former cop said, “Well again, i would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6! Im going home to my kiddos!”

I can’t respond better than Jerri Lynn Ward, “So would innocent people encountering panicky trigger happy cops and they don’t get paid to take the risks that cops are paid for. Your statement convinces me even more that cops are not here to protect us but only to collect a salary and pension. It’s good that someone with your attitude is out of the profession.”

The victim in this video is almost certainly an idiot. But idiots don’t deserve the death penalty. The officer’s safety comes first, even if it costs someone else their life. And this officer won’t be held to the same standard as the citizenry. He gets special treatment. Good luck getting justice for Jerame Reid.

Stranger Than Fiction

This guy videotaped the Denver police beating the snot out of a suspect, and throwing his pregnant girlfriend down on her stomach. Then, they stole his tablet, and erased the video he took of them. He was able to restore the video after he got home. The cops never mentioned the existence of the video in their reports, so they clearly deleted it and were hiding it.

The photographer’s friends told him to delete the video and forget about it because the cops would retaliate if he went public with the video. Thank God he did the right thing and came forward. But it turns out his friends were right. He’s been arrested, while the cop who beat up the guy has been promoted. And the Denver PD has issued a statement defending their actions. I sincerely hope these people sue the city to the point of bankruptcy. They’re nothing but liars and thugs.

I’m convinced we need to scrap this system and start over.

Here’s the story.

Is This Guy Stupid?

I think this guy is a little bit smarter and knows a little better than the average cop that he can’t demand ID (even though he tried). But he still can’t just admit he’s wrong and just walk away.

It’s amazing how easy it is for Jeff Gray (the guy behind the camera) to get the cops to show what a bunch of thugs they are.
