Mafia Supporter
A had a Facebook conversation with a guy who can’t answer why it’s acceptable for government to force people to pay for things (aka theft). In fact, the vast majority of people are just like him. I’ve asked this question to many people and have never got a good answer. Here’s the conversation:
ME: Taxation is theft. Abolish public school.
John: Then you need to live on a little island all by yourself?? And be cut off from the rest of society that is funded by those very tax dollars?? That I know you have some sort of benefits from??
ME: So you have no problem with forcing people to pay for things they don’t want?
John: Take your child to a private school and pay for it yourself?? Thats your right.. No one stopping you.. But not with tax dollars..
ME: you seem to be refusing to respond to my argument. Why do you think it’s acceptable to force people to pay for things they don’t want?
I’m opposed to forcing you to pay for other people’s children’s private school tuition. I’d appreciate you not being in favor of forcing me to pay for things I don’t want.
John: You have the answer?? You just don’t like the one that was provided.. Go whare you please?? For your children education.. If you go private?? No public tax dollars are going with you..
ME: So if you lived in certain parts of New York at various times in the past where the Mafia forced people to pay for protection, you’d tell the victims something like, “Tough luck. If you don’t like living in Mafia-run areas, you should move.”?

ME: You haven’t answered the question. Why is it acceptable for government to force people to pay for things they don’t want? You’ve suggested an option for what to do about the situation but you haven’t explained why it’s acceptable.
The analogy between government and the Mafia is perfect. The Mafia provided services and forced people to pay for the services. Feel free to explain why it was acceptable for the Mafia to force people to pay them–not what their victims’ options were, but why it’s acceptable.

The Enslavement of a South Korean Band–BTS
BTS is a South Korean band, and I’ll admit I’ve never heard of them, but they make a ton of money. They’ve been drafted by the military and will serve a couple years.
Not everything is about money, but it is an excellent measure of what something is worth. What we are paid for our time is an excellent measure of how well we’re serving other people. Obviously, the most profitable use of these guys’ time is making music. As soldiers they’re not using their time wisely. They produce probably about $20,000 per year of value as soldiers.
What’s a good word for describing when someone is forced to work and not properly compensated for their time and talents? Could it be “slavery”?
There’s no doubt that the draft is slavery, unless someone is doing something voluntarily, it’s slavery. You could make the argument that more normally-compensated people getting drafted, and getting paid a sodier’s wage that is nearly equivalent to what they normally make wouldn’t be slavery. But if they are being forced to do a job they don’t want to do, it’s still slavery.
Of course, we no longer have a draft in the U.S. Has slavery of this sort come to an end for us? Looking at it from the BTS example, we all face a milder form of slavery through taxation. They say that a portion of the money we earn, which represents a portion of our time doesn’t belong to us. It belongs to the various levels of government. We aren’t directly enslaved, but we face partial enslavement.
Taxation is theft. Slavery is one specific method of committing the sin of theft–stealing someone’s time and talents. Taxation is theft and it is also more specifically, slavery.
Everything any government does that is useful and worthwhile could be done voluntarily through people volunteering their time or donating or directly paying for a service. If it wasn’t useful (99% of what they do) it won’t get funded or sold.
Church Isn’t The Place for Serious Christians
That title is the most provocative chapter title from a great book by Stephen Perks. It is free as both a pdf or audio. It’s short and says so many of the things I’ve been thinking.
One of the most important things he points out is that Jesus said we are to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. That isn’t just personal piety. It’s seeking to build God’s kingdom and seeking justice. We aren’t to seek first to plant churches or go to church every Sunday or invite people to church or spend tons of time around the church or have our lives revolve around church. “Church” isn’t even the biblical word for the 501c3 corporations or Sunday morning event. “Church” is the body of Christ–all believers make up the church. Almost nothing about the Sunday morning deal is in the Bible. We’re not commanded to do anything on Sunday morning or any other particular day. We’re to love other people and seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

I don’t know who Brian Suave is, but this was reposted by a pastor. Of course, a pastor wants people to build their lives around the church. That’s a cult as far as I’m concerned. Stephen Perks calls it a mystery cult. The mystery is in opposition to building God’s kingdom. I’ve experienced it and it’s almost always true, at least 99% of the time.
We are supposed to do some of those things as far as serving others and building God’s kingdom, but there is simply nothing in Scripture about doing anything like the meme says.
The church as we know it is good for nothing but being thrown out and trampled as it is salt that has lost its savor. It is failed and salt that’s lost it’s savor cannot be restored but can only be thrown out.

Amazing Keto
It feels premature for me to say that the keto diet is great when I’m still losing weight with it (though I’ve now lost 40 pounds). I’ve been watching this guy’s videos, and it seems like over and over keto solves a health problem. I mention to my wife that keto fixes this or keto fixes that, and she just laughs because she doesn’t yet believe that it can fix so many things.
This video is about fertility issues, and I watched it because we were praying for a couple that is having that problem. But they do mention a lot of amazing things beyond just fertility. They say doctors would be out of business if everyone did keto. There would only be doctors for emergencies and infections and old age.
Obviously, I’m excited about this, and now we just need to figure out if this video would be appropriate to send to our friends. Neither of these guys are Christians, but they have this figured out at least. They say so many things that are contrary to what we’ve all heard that it’s a breath of fresh air.
The Greatest Servant
Nick Perez says something to think about for sure:

The Satanic State (executive governments from Washington, DC on down to your local City Hall) is the greatest servant in the culture. This is how the Church lost the culture. Did you think the devil is dumb?
How do we reverse it? I used to think a big part was by petitioning the Satanic State to abolish abortion. Give it a shot if you want, and prove the devil right, because he thinks we’re dumb. So how do we reverse it? Start a local business. Serve your community. Feed the poor. Evangelize. Educate. Be the greatest servant.
One Less Cop Supporter
I stopped supporting cops in 2007 when I was harassed by cops and threatened with arrest while evangelizing on a public sidewalk. Those cops demonstrated zero knowledge of the law or the Constitution. They were retarded.
What the guy in this video says reminds me a lot of my situation. He did everything they said and demonstrated that he wasn’t drunk, but was still arrested.
The cops in this video showed how stupid they were. They showed they’re not interested in protecting anyone’s rights. Their victim says in the video that he no longer supports police.
Police are a satanic organization funded by socialism. There is zero biblical basis for their existence.
The next lesson to learn is: DON’T TALK TO POLICE!
That is your right and men have died for it. If you don’t use your rights, you may as well not have them.
Is Anarchy Correct?
Anarcho-capitalists have taught me a lot. My worldview is informed by the Bible, and I think a lot of what even unbelieving anarchists say is more biblical than the typical Christian. Anarcho-capitalists are willing to say provocative things to make you think. I will describe the proper, biblical form of government, and if that’s anarchy, fine, and if not, fine.
Romans 13 is the clearest New Testament passage on government. Romans 13:4 says that the magistrates’ only job is to be God’s servants to carry out God’s wrath on the evildoer. It’s not their job to educate kids, give out welfare, maintain roads, inspect buildings or anything else. So, we can eliminate 90%-95% of government right there. That leaves us with the criminal justice system.
But Romans 13 is not an exhaustive passage about government and how they are to punish evildoers. The Bible doesn’t allow government to do whatever it wants as long as they’re only punishing evildoers. Romans 13 is presupposing that you know what the Old Testament says. The Old Testament does give us adequate information about what government should be.
Let’s look at the criminal justice system.
Are cops biblical? No. Cops didn’t exist in this country until the 1840s. There are no cops in Scripture. There shouldn’t be a socialist-funded force roaming around looking for crimes. And as if cops protect anyone, that should be done yourself and with the help of your neighbors or you can hire a security company if you’re really worried.
Is prison biblical? No. Prison is an unust punishment. Why should the people have to pay for the food and shelter of criminals? Rape, murder, kidnapping are death penalty crimes. Other crimes such as assault or theft require restitution.
Is taxation biblical? Romans 13 says you ought to pay your taxes, but the Old Testament doesn’t say there’s a criminal penalty for not paying your taxes. It might be a sin, but it’s not a crime. Taxes are essentially voluntary, and only for a government that’s acting as God’s servants.
We’re down to about 1% of our current government. Courts are the only biblical function of government, but what does a biblical court system look like? The courts are made up of judges who are the wiser, older guys around who know God’s law and can judge righteously. There might be a volunteer judge on your street who might judge the occasional case from your neighborhood. Maybe there’s another judge in your part of the city who’s a little more experienced in tougher cases. The highest judge might be a guy in your town who can handle serious, death-penalty cases. The death penalty is carried out first by the witnesses against the perpetrator in the trial and then by the townspeople.
Ideally, all the participants are volunteers, or maybe there are professional judges that are paid by court fees from civil trials or voluntary taxation. I call myself an anarcho-capitalist or anarcho-reconstructionist. Would the anarchists I respect such as Larken Rose, Jeff Berwick, or Doug Casey call me an anarchist? I don’t know for sure. I’d guess that since I say there is no compulsory taxation, that they’d say I’m an anarchist. I tell people I’m an anarchist.
A Church That Has Lots Its Saltiness
The American church has lots its saltiness. My former church in particular is completely without savor.
I used to go downtown and witness to the bar crowd on Friday or Saturday night. We did Way-of-the-Master style witnessing and we had a seven foot tall wooden cross we carried. People would come up and ask us why we’re standing on the sidewalk with a cross. That was a great way to start a conversation.
I tried over and over for a long time to get people from my church to go with me and the one other guy that was coming. I taught an evangelism class and about 10-15 people attended. I was only able to get three or four different people to come, one time each. One guy was called some dirty name (I can’t remember what it was) and that seemed to really hurt him or make him think it was dangerous. One guy who came thought we were doing it wrong but he wasn’t willing to show us the right way either. The assistant pastor said we were doing it wrong. He said we should offer people free coffee, and the cups could have a Bible message, but we shouldn’t preach.
Occasionally, there would be heavy metal concerts on a Friday night at the Eagles club and mostly teenagers attended. I thought it was really good, because the kids were somewhat hostile to start out, but a lot of them asked really deep questions and we had a lot of good conversations. One of the guys in the band didn’t like that the kids would leave the concert and go outside to talk to us. His dad was a pastor, and he asked my pastor to get us to stop witnessing at the concerts. My pastor told him to contact us. We ended up meeting him and had a long conversation where he told us we were evangelizing all wrong. His arguments were the typical weak arguments, and easy to answer. I was surprised at the time that a pastor openly opposed the preaching of the gospel.
For the first several weeks we were going downtown, we were harassed by the cops until an experienced officer threatened to arrest us. The lady who had called the cops said she didn’t want to press charges, so we didn’t get arrested. We got a lawyer from Liberty Counsel to write a letter to the Police, city council and city attorney, and the chief of police wrote a memo telling them not to mess with us if there was no report of an actual crime. The cops had no idea what basic constitutional rights were. Apparently not many Christians are into free speech.
One bar was particularly confrontational with us. They were having a wet t-shirt contest and they sarcastically invited us. I told the pastor and asked for help. I thought it was important that there be a Christian presence, but of course, no one would come. I ended up going alone as my usual gospel partner couldn’t come until later in the evening. An older guy walked up to me, and said, “You’re moving or I’m going to move you.” I said something like, “This is a public sidewalk. I’m not moving.” I really should have seen it coming, but I guess I didn’t take his threat seriously. He hit me near my eye with his cane. I ended up with a black eye.
I say all that to point out that the church in America has lost its saltiness. They have no gumption to stand up for what’s right. They clearly don’t believe in the power of the gospel or the effectiveness of God’s Word to confront the culture. America is rotting because the church cowers in fear and the vast majority believes things will only get worse and we will eventually be defeated before Christ’s return.
I was a premillennialist for most of the time this was happening, but I was being schizophrenic. I believed the Bible passages that say the gospel is powerful enough to change lives at least and change the culture if Christians could step up and spread the good news. Unfortunately, most Christians are consistent with their premillennialism and think they’re going to be defeated so they shrink back into the four walls of the church.
I’m now a postmillennialist who believes that the gospel will spread and more and more people will be saved. God’s Word will be applied more and more consistently to every area of life and culture and God will bless our obedience. God’s kingdom will grow like a mustard seed into a great tree.
The pastor at my former church was the only one who never really openly opposed us. But he never did much of anything to help either. His sermons are 55 minutes long every week, and even the members of the congregation who attend weekly are shockingly immature and unable to apply Scripture to life. Ongoing attempts I’ve made to help them apply Scripture to various topics has been vehemently opposed. I was kicked out of the church Facebook group. One lady’s only comeback to my arguments was that I have beady eyes. Others have accused me of being provocative and argumentative. I’ll concede to those, but I deny that I’ve done anything sinful. They certainly haven’t come up with any persuasive responses to my arguments.
Whatever sin or cultural battles that are to come, I predict that that church and the vast majority of other churches in this country will sit out entirely. They haven’t done squat. They’ve accomplished nearly nothing for the kingdom of God. They have only been defeated and they will continue to become less and less relevant. They are salt that’s lost its saltiness and are worthy of nothing more than to be thrown out and trampled.
I have no doubt that I could do many things better. I would love to be shown what I can do better. I would love to look up to men who have won great battles and have advanced the kingdom of God. I know of some, but very few, and none personally. Most of the men I know personally are losers who plan to go on losing. They expect to be locked up in a ghetto and they’re just fine with their ghetto. They’ll go on a retreat, even though they’ve never been on the advance. They’ll have a pot luck and their wives will put up the decorations for the ghetto Christmas party.
