I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Super Bowl halftime show that was worth speaking of. It’s not really my kind of thing. The show from about 10 days ago was no exception to that. I generally don’t even watch it. Apparently, it was supportive of black lives matter movement and black panthers.
Of course, conservative cop-worshipers are up in arms over the NFL allowing the glorification of those who don’t lick the boots of police. Here’s what Bojidar Marinov had to say:
Cops in this country murder more people a week than the Black Panthers for their whole period of existence. Besides, the Black Panthers are at least pro-2nd Amendment. The majority of cops in this country are against the Second Amendment. While I dislike the Black Panthers, they are harmless compared to police.
Thus, in this artificial conflict, I see a greater and more brutal gang against a smaller and harmless gang. I can’t in good conscience support the more murderous gang.
These cops actually think it’s against the law to offend someone. Do you realize that this cop can accuse someone of offending people, and then, he can search them, arrest them and abuse them in all sorts of ways. In fact, I’ve shown on this blog how Tony Miano (who claims to be familiar with the Bible) believes that a false accusation from a cop entitles them to inflict all sorts of abuse on citizens, and that Christians ought to submit to such abuse.
Miraculously, these three retarded cops have a chief that’s not also a brain-dead, morally-twisted idiot. The chief rescinded the ticket. But there is certainly no guarantee that the higher-up cops and the district attorney will side with the law and the truth.
Hopefully these cops will be fired for being so completely ignorant of basic law, and be sued for every paycheck they’ve ever cashed for having fraudulently received wages as a law enforcement officer, when in fact, they have zero knowledge of the law.
Then, towards the end of the video, the cop asks the guy to sign the ticket, but says that he doesn’t necessarily have to sign. They clearly have some leeway in what they do if someone doesn’t sign. But, the power-tripping lady cop steps in and wants the citizen to be fully subjugated so she threatens to arrest him if he doesn’t sign.
There are psychological studies that show that being able to threaten violence and control people starts to change both the abusers and the victims. The only thing that gives cops and our entire system (including bureaucrats, judges and politicians) any authority is the constant threat of violence. All the papers that politicians and judges push around are a thin veil hiding the gun that forces people to follow their arbitrary dictates. I wonder how the constant injustice and threats of violence we face affect our whole society.
Street preachers running into completely ignorant cops is not a rare occurrence. I have much different theology than the guys in the video, and disavow their shock-and-awe style, but even in my tame, friendly and much less frequent free speech activity I’ve run into cops on two occasions that were shockingly ignorant, and said much the same thing that these cops said. I was accused of offending someone and if my “victim” had decided to press charges, I would have been arrested for disorderly conduct. The cop that was going to arrest me was a veteran cop in his 50s, who had been in the same department for decades. I was shocked, and maybe that night the seed was planted that has led me to see that police are unconstitutional and unbiblical.
Here’s an interesting video where Carrier (HVAC company) announces to their workers in Indianapolis that they’re moving the factory to Mexico.
I don’t know why they’d announce such a thing with more than a year’s warning. Those workers are now angry and likely to not put forth full effort. There could be a lot of factors I don’t know about, of course, but I would tell them at 5:00 the day they’re laid off.
Why is a Mexican workforce so much cheaper than an American workforce? Because the U.S. government puts all kinds of barriers in place for employers and employees. When, for example, government makes a law giving employees a new right, it just makes employees that much more expensive. Government has stepped into the relationship between employer and employee and dictated to both that the employer has to do X, and the employee must receive X. Neither has any choice in the matter.
The employee can’t opt to reject that benefit in order to be more competitive, or even to receive the benefit as a pay raise. That new benefit sounds good, but in reality, the employee is paying for it, or he’s pricing himself out of the market, and in the case of Carrier, the employee’s competitor is a Mexican.
Minimum wage is a more concrete example. In Seattle, the city has dictated that minimum wage is $15. The entry-level worker earning minimum wage may not be producing $15 worth of value for his employer. In that case, the entry-level guy will be laid off, and replaced with someone who can produce $15 or more worth of value. Or some company’s may be able to move out of Seattle, or some jobs can be replaced with computers, such as cashier jobs, where one cashier will monitor several self-checkout systems.
Raising the minimum wage sounds good, but it only hurts those who most need help. Furthermore, if raising it to $15/hour were a good idea, why not $20 or $50?
There are thousands of ways that government interferes in an evil way to price American workers out of the market. The only way for Americans to be competitive and get manufacturing jobs back is to get government out of the picture, and get them to stop meddling. B
Someone asked whether theonomy is wooden and inflexible. Here’s what Joel McDurmon had to say to that:
It is actually high liturgy that is wooden and inflexible. It constrains and demands that “worship” be limited to “the book.” Then they distract themselves with “beauty”—embroidered robes, candles, shiny objects—as if that was flexibility. There is a reason the continuing anglican world is split into a hundred tiny denominations. It is just as wooden and inflexible as anything in the Reformed world.
On the converse, Theonomy stipulates that there are Ten Basic principles that can be applied in a million different circumstances. The only things that are inflexible are the civil and religious rights that God’s law gives (which cannot be alienated by any man or government), and the only thing that is highly regulated and strictly fixed, inflexibly, are the powers of civil government to punish or harm.
There is a reason why, historically, where God’s Law is taken seriously, you see liberty, and where high liturgy ascends in culture, you have tyrannical invasive church courts, canon law, and a state to match.
Cops are liberal democrats. Their unions donate to the Democrat Party 100%. Cops who commit crimes are usually defended in court by Democrat lawyers. (Darren Wilson’s fund-raising campaign was organized by a Democrat politician who describes himself as a Socialist.) The origin of professional police is liberal democrat: The first professional police was established by the corrupt Democrat Tammany Hall in NYC in the 1840s. (The first professional police in Europe was established by the Jacobins in the French Revolution.) Before that, America had no professional police, and the Founding Fathers envisioned no professional police. As late as 1910, conservatives and church ministers preached against professional police, for citizens’ militia.
So we do have a cop problem in America. It’s part of the liberal democrat problem. Professional police is one of the tools of liberal democrats for subjugating the population, whether black or white. It’s their tax collector force.
If you are against liberal democrats, you should be against police. If you are against one, for the other, you are inconsistent. Inconsistency always loses the cultural war. I have seen it in Eastern Europe. You won’t be an exception.
I’ve given up on the Republicans for the most part. The American government at all levels is anti-Christ, and none of them see it. None of them want to end socialism, and some of them want to increase it. But here’s the highlight of all the debates so far.
The title of this article is “Marine Dad Makes School PAY the Price After Pushing Islamic Propaganda On Daughter”. First of all, that is the most false title anyone could come up with. The guy didn’t do anything except get himself banned from school property and sue the government in the government’s courts. As if you’ll get a fair trial when the judge and jury are paid by the government.
You know the way to make the school district really pay would be to take your kid out of the school. They receive federal funding based on the number of students, and when you take your kids out, they receive less funding. Homeschooling your kids is also biblical and has the added benefit of not marinating your child’s mind in government propaganda and idolatrous secular humanism for 13 years.
I loathe secular humanism just as much as Islam, if not more. Everyone talks about how little freedom there is in Muslim countries. It’s not like this is such a free country. They take 50% of our income and that is supposed to be better than jizya? (Jizya is the tax a Muslim government requires Christians and Jews to pay.) If sending your kids to a Muslim school would be a sin, sending them to secular humanist public schools is every bit as sinful.
Of course the judge is a wicked pervert. But who is going to collect their fine? Who is going to make sure they attend their reeducation? There are a team of “nice” people–our friends and neighbors who will carry out this decree. I have a couple of friends who work for the court system. I know some of the sweet little old ladies who work for the county. They’re just doing their job, right? The issue is that you can no longer work for the government and keep clean hands. The whole system is trash, but Christians just go on working for it and doing whatever they’re told.
Conservatives keep saying that their local cops and sheriff are different. There are stories of sheriffs proclaiming their love of the 2nd Amendment. But every time these guys have been tested, they’ve failed. The Harney County (Oregon) Sheriff allowed the feds to murder Lavoy Finicum. The Rowan County (Kentucky) Sheriff allowed Kim Davis to go off to federal court and jail. So good luck placing any hope in local people. They do what the feds tell them.
These local people are our friends and neighbors and they sit in the same pew as us and they hear your pastor say Romans 13 teaches strict obedience to government. Christianity and the pulpit are the problem with America. When the pulpit changes, Christianity will change and this country will change.
