SLC Cops Shoot Unarmed Man

The first 40 seconds or so of the video is silent.

From the FreeThoughtProject.com: On August 11, Taylor, his brother, and his cousin were exiting a 7-Eleven in an area where police were searching for a suspect who had allegedly been waving a gun around.  These uninvolved young men allegedly matched the description.

When the three men exited the convenience store they were surrounded by officers and ordered to show their hands.  Two of the men stopped and complied, Dillon Taylor, listening to music, kept walking.

Barely 40 seconds go by from the time Dillon is approached until he is shot by this trigger happy officer.

Police state that when ordered to stop and show his hands by Officer Bron Cruz, the killer cop who was following Taylor as he walked away, Taylor said, “No, fool.”, this is apparently punishable by death.

His brother and cousin maintain he was simply pulling up his pants.

The County Attorney states Taylor put his hands in his waistband, then lifted his shirt with one hand, while his other hand was “in a drawing motion,”.  Interesting, seeing as how he was unarmed.

“He couldn’t hear them, so he just kept walking. Then … they had guns pointed at his face. That’s when he turned off the music,” Taylor’s brother Jerrail Taylor told the victim-blaming SLC Tribune. “I saw them point guns at my brother’s face, and I knew what was going to happen.”

One officer told Taylor to get on the ground, while another told him to put his hands on his head.

“He got confused, he went to pull up his pants to get on the ground, and they shot him,” Jerrail Taylor said.

The SLC Tribune, parroting the police, reported that Taylor has had prior run-in’s with the law, although even the police admit that the officer did not know this and it was unrelated.  Trying to portray victims as villains is a shameful tactic used far too frequently.

They also report he was intoxicated, with a blood alcohol content of .18, which may explain his confusion and poor judgement when reacting to the situation.  It is important to remember, however, that this man had committed no crime, aside from underage drinking, and was not driving when the incident occurred.  These young men had simply gone to the store to purchase drinks.

Taylor was shot in the chest and abdomen, his body was then handcuffed before he would receive any medical attention.

The police-apologist SLC Tribune has footage of this, but has decided to withhold it claiming it is too graphic.  Based on their extremely despicable reporting however, it would be a safe bet to say that the footage likely just makes their beloved officers look bad.

We Are Not Free

You can skip ahead to the 1:40 mark and just watch for a couple minutes. If you watch the first part, you’ll see this lesbian cop driving around apparently just looking for someone to harass. She managed to find an old man with a cane.

The charges against this man were eventually dropped after he spent the night in jail. If a peaceful, elderly man can be subject to the lies and harassment of these people, are you safe?

We are no longer a free people. The cops shouldn’t be just cruising around looking for trouble. That is an affront to liberty.

Another Example of Bad Cops

How many incidents do we need before we realize there is an inherent problem with the police? I’m convinced that we give people too many chances in life.

Just as a stupid example, I told my pastor that Peyton Manning was going to choke in this year’s playoffs.

He choked big time.

I was able to predict this, not because I figured out how to predict it, but because I realized that Peyton Manning is a choker. Chokers choke. It’s not hard to predict. He shouldn’t get any more chances, but people drool all over themselves for Peyton Manning and aren’t able to think clearly, or just think that he should get another chance. I say no more chances. He’s only going to feel more pressure to win the superbowl as he knows each one may very well be the last chance before he retires.

Cops, in general, are on a power trip and abuse people and don’t know the law. I predict that cops will continue to do that, because that’s what they are, and the guys in charge are cops and the guys training the new cops are cops. We need to drastically rethink what cops are and what they do.

Furthermore, when cops behave like criminals, we report them to the cops. The cops don’t do anything, because they’re all cops and they all act like cops. If you sue them, you won’t see a judgment for years, and that will be paid by insurance. The individuals don’t suffer for any wrongdoing they commit.

I believe what the Bible says. There were no armed-to-the-teeth thugs to drive around making sure that law-abiding citizens are wearing their seat belts in Old Testament Israel. It’s insane. But we’ve exchanged our freedom for a false sense of security.

Why does this guy who was abused by the cops still want to be a cop? I don’t get it.

Here’s the story.

The Attitude of Cops

I aspire for my attitude in life to be that I would lay down my life for another–even a stranger. I realize that’s easier said than done. And, that doesn’t mean that I would be unwilling to kill to protect myself or my family. But to give one’s life to protect innocent people is a Christian virtue. Jesus said, “No greater love has any man than this, but to lay down his life for a friend (John 15:13).”

Shouldn’t that also be the attitude of police? We admire those who ran into the World Trade Center while everyone else was running out. But that seems like ancient history at this point. The attitude of the police seems that they are an army occupying enemy territory. Their safety comes first.

On Facebook, in reference to the dangerous situation shown in this video, a former cop said, “Well again, i would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6! Im going home to my kiddos!”

I can’t respond better than Jerri Lynn Ward, “So would innocent people encountering panicky trigger happy cops and they don’t get paid to take the risks that cops are paid for. Your statement convinces me even more that cops are not here to protect us but only to collect a salary and pension. It’s good that someone with your attitude is out of the profession.”

The victim in this video is almost certainly an idiot. But idiots don’t deserve the death penalty. The officer’s safety comes first, even if it costs someone else their life. And this officer won’t be held to the same standard as the citizenry. He gets special treatment. Good luck getting justice for Jerame Reid.

Justice Served In Spite of Another Ignorant Cop

This cop is a joke. He completely fabricated a charge out of thin air. He’s paid to enforce the law, but he doesn’t even know what the law is. He should be charged with fraud for every paycheck he has accepted.

There’s good news on this one though. Here’s how this case turned out, quoted from the faith-freedom.com website mentioned at the end of the video.

Initially, when the men were arrested, the CHP officer stated that it was illegal to “preach to a captive audience.” After the defendants were placed in jail and upon learning that no such penal code prohibits preaching to a “captive audience,”  the officer issued a citation for “impeding an open business” with threats or intimidation under Penal Code Section 602.1(b). However, the DMV was closed at the time the men were there, and they were standing at least 50 feet from the entrance.  So, the district attorney again changed the charges, claiming trespass, after the government realized the business was not actually open and, presumably, saw the video showing no threats or intimidation.

On August 13, 2013, we won the case when the judge ruled in our favor before we even had to put forward any evidence. The DA did not meet his burden of proof, and our clients were found Not Guilty.

They have filed a federal lawsuit and I hope they end up costing the state a lot of money.

Arrests Threatened

This is one of Jeff Gray’s most viewed videos, even though it was only posted a few days ago. Everything he did was perfectly legal.

However, two evil, statist Florida sheriffs have threatened to arrest anyone who tries it in their county.

“I challenge him…to please come to Lee County and drive around,” Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott said. “Eventually he’ll find one of our checkpoints and he’ll try his luck. He’ll go to jail.”

“It’s about doing the right thing and we are trying to do the right thing to protect the public and keep drunks who kill people off the road,” Gualtieri, Pinellas County Sheriff, said.

“The deputy can’t assess the person. And, if you can’t assess them, you are obstructing the investigation,” Gualtieri said.

“Just because you dangle in a bag with your drivers license, insurance card and registration out the window doesn’t mean you’re not drunk.”

I emailed both sheriffs and asked them to add me to their checkpoint notification list. Give me liberty or give me death.
