Similarities Between A Russian Soldier in Ukraine and an American Liberal

  1. Ukraine doesn’t want to allow people in Donetsk and Luhansk to secede, because they would lose tax revenue, so they work to supress the resistance there. Supressing resistance ultimately involves forcing people to do things at gunpoint rather than persuasive arguments.
  2. Putin uses Ukraine’s actions and makes up stories about Nazis so that he can attack Ukraine. Ultimately, he wants more distance between Moscow and Nato. Why? So that the Russian government is ensured that it can go on taxing its citizens.
  3. Americans are completely subdued, and pay their taxes, comply with opressive regulations and stop at DUI and immigration checkpoints. The real problem is that there are some Americans who advocate for those things. People actually vote for tax increases and advocate for immigration restrictions knowing that they will have to stop at immigration checkpoints or advocate for onerous regulations so that they feel a little safer.
  4. America has done all the same crap Russia is doing in Ukraine to other countries such as Iraq.
  5. There is ultimately no difference between a Russian soldier shelling a Ukrainian apartment building and an American voting for a tax increase for schools or a rec center or whatever. All taxes are collected through threats of violence. It’s just that Americans are more likely to comply than resist.
