In the mid teens, I was excited about Bitcoin. The possibility that it would advance privacy and make payments cheap and easy. Any alternative to the dollar and its tyrannical overlords was good.

The problem is that Bitcoin and the exchanges to buy it on became completely beholden to the government. You can no longer buy it from an exchange without handing over all your information.

The Bitcoin can be tracked as it moves from wallet to wallet. If you were the last-known owner of the Bitcoin that ends up getting used in an illegal transaction, you may be hearing from the cops.

All the problems with Bitcoin were demonstrated when the Canadian truckers demonstrating in Ottawa had their bank account shut down.

They mention a few strategies that may work in the future. But there are solutions that work right now such as Monero and Pirate. I’m certainly not saying they will go up in value; I don’t know. But I see no real use for Bitcoin other than hoping it goes up in value. I see possible uses for Monero and Pirate.

So whether Bitcoin goes up from here, I don’t know. But I’m not interested in wasting anymore time on it.
