There are often valid criticism of homeschoolers. It seems counterintuitive that people whom the public school system failed could give their children a better education than they received. Sometimes homeschool parents have atrocious grammar. Someone posted such a criticism and I responded to that, and I thought the reply to my comment was quite rich.

No one homeschools their children because they’re lazy. It is a lot of work. People can be aware of their shortcomings and find a way to educate their children anyway. Furthermore, anyone who has done research knows the average homeschooler is better educated than the average public schooler. What is not a valid criticism or public school or homeschooling is anecdotal evidence, such as, I know a homeschool kid who was a complete failure. Of course, there are kids who turn out poorly from any type of schooling. You have to go with more statistical and scientific ways of measuring. Here are some examples.
