I happened across this post on Facebook. The video is just this lady sitting there looking at the camera not saying anything.

I have a few thoughts on this.

1. Cops don’t stop crimes. They show up long after the crimes have been committed and take a report. I once showed up to work at a vacant house, and I could hear people banging/jumping/running around in the house. I was fumbling with the keys trying to get the door open, and they ran out the back door. I chased them around the back and they ran away. I immediately called 911. The cops took an hour to show up. Granted, there was never any danger, but I was certainly disappointed in the level of service. It’s rare when cops show up to protect or stop a crime. You better be able to protect yourself.
2. Cops are funded by socialism–by sales tax in most cases; sheriff departments are funded by property taxes. Just like any socialist system, they get paid whether they provide good service or not. They have no real incentive to provide good service.
3. Anyone who supports police is a socialist. Supporting the police is the exact opposite of conservatism as the post would have us believe. Security services can be provided by socialism, which contributes to the further decline of this country. Or it can be funded like any other service. You can perform the duty yourself (DIY). You can pay someone else. A third way would be for neighbors to help each other. If we weren’t all being forced to contribute to socialist security services, we would all be getting to know our neighbors and we’d be figuring out ways to call each other for help in the event of an emergency.

That is a common theme when relying on socialist services. Government replaces neighbors and family. The Bible says we should be helping our parents and grandparents (1 Timothy 5:4) and others who are in need. Instead, we fill out IRS forms, and government sends those in need a check. We never have to be in contact with them at all if we don’t want.
