My wife has been discussing some political topics with some older people from our church. They are lovely people, but they toe the Fox News, pagan-right line. They’re all opinionated but one guy in particular is a nasty grouch–to the point of being funny.

They sincerely believe they are right, but are sincerely wrong. It is important for us all to work hard and raise our kids. None of these people were political activists, but hard-working folks. But as far as that generation’s performance in preventing the cultural decay, they are among the worst, maybe only being beat out by their parents–the “greatest” generation.

I think they have screwed up so bad that we should not only not take their advice, but we would be much better off doing exactly the opposite of what they recommend. They have accomplished nothing regarding abortion, socialism, etc.

Of course, there may be individuals of any age who have accomplished much, but in general the baby boomers have been terrible, mooching losers. I hope that my generation can help turn things around. If not, Lord willing, I hope to individually do the right thing–the biblical thing–with my life so that someday I’m not an old man blathering stupidity.
